Superior technology developed through extensive R&D, and combined with innovative features and high quality, create maximum productity.

Tanaka-pioneer in plate laser processing

In 1969,Tanaka started their fundamental studies in laser technology aimed at the development of industrial laser processing. Tanaka was quick to develop a laser processing machine based on 50 years of accumulated experience in oxy-fuel and plasma cutting .In 1979, Tanaka completed their first laser cutting machine and then further developed this technology until they introduced the worlds first laser integrated machine designed for processing of plate thickness in 1989.Since then, Tanaka has been fulfilling the plate fabrication industries requirements by providing a plate laser that offers high precision and high productivity fabrication reducing total lead-time in heavy fabrication. The result has been the introduction of the LMXVII, the most advanced plate laser cutting machine in the world.

TANAKA’s system integration offers a wide variety of labor saving, efficient production systems from unattended freestanding machines to fully automated CIM operations. All incorporate the LMX series laser machine at its core.

TANAKA has been successful in integrating plate laser processing with CAD/CAM, automated material handling and automated warehousing of raw materials. This integrated system links the laser cutting machine with automated material storage and loading to provide users with long-term, unattended operation.

The system network is commanded by the TANAKA "TALK" system which coordinates all material handling functions, from loading of raw material to unloading of precision laser cut parts.

The CIM system also integrates the CAD/CAM functions with production control requirements to meet the increasing quick-change demands of fabricators.

The overall result has been the development of a proven production laser processing system that integrates both the information flow and material handling flow into one cohesive system…a system to meet the needs of a wide variety of plate fabricators. Now TANAKA is taking the next step by introducing the next-generation laser cutting machine, the LMXVII.
